SOME MPs-ELECT TO RETAIN PREVIOUS PORTFOLIOS IN NEW CABINET

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has signalled that some of the ministers in his pre-election cabinet will retain their portfolios in this new administration.

He says this will ensure continuity in certain areas, including preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November, and the expansion of the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus.

Prime Minister Browne and Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin were sworn in on Friday, hours after the ABLP’s landslide victory in general elections.

The remaining members of the cabinet are to be sworn in on Tuesday, May 5, in a ceremony at the American University of Antigua.
