TENACIOUS LEEWARDS STAGE IMPRESSIVE COMEBACK TO DEFEAT BARBADOS

The Leewards Hurricanes, led by centurion Keiran Powell, completed their sterling comeback by beating Barbados Pride in the West Indies Championship on Friday.
Powell compiled 104 off 109 balls, with 11 fours and 3 sixes, to lay the foundation for a 2 wicket win at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
The Nevisian’s ninth first class ton, to add to 3 test centuries and 40 first class fifties, propelled the Leewards, who trailed by 168 on first innings, to 247 for 8, and victory by 2 wickets.
The 33 year-old Powell, who is averaging just over 30 at the first class level, figured in a 120 run 5th wicket stand with captain Jahmar Hamilton.
