Two Men Charged in Connection with West Bus Station Shooting

Police have arrested and charged two young men in connection with a shooting incident at the West Bus Station that left three people nursing gunshot injuries.
19-year-old Kajouni Defreitas of Ottos and 18-year-old Royli Richards of Golden Grove have been jointly charged with Shooting with Intent to Murder Jahlani Barzey, Josh Thomas, and Dejohntea Meade.
They were also charged with Using a Firearm in Furtherance of an Offence, in relation to the same incident.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the West Bus Station, during which the three victims sustained gunshot injuries.
Two of the victims remain hospitalized and are receiving medical treatment for their injuries. Their conditions are reported to be stable.
Both Defreitas and Richards are expected to appear before the court sometime today, Monday, August 10, to answer to the charges.
The Police Administration continues to reassure the public that incidents involving the unlawful use of firearms are being treated with the utmost seriousness.
The police further appeal to members of the public who may have information concerning this incident or other firearm-related offences to come forward and assist with ongoing investigations.
