$2500 FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO PROSECUTION OF LITTERBUGS

The government has announced a zero-tolerance approach to littering and will also be taking a more muscular approach to removing derelict vehicles from public spaces.

Cabinet says it will amend the law to increase the fine for those littering to $5,000, while those providing information leading to prosecution will get a reward of $2,500.

The fresh crackdown on derelict vehicles is beginning immediately.
