TELECOMS MINISTER CHAIRS TALKS WITH STAKEHOLDERS
Telecommunications Minister the Hon. Melford Nicholas says discussions continue regarding new legislation that will be taken before Parliament.
Minister Nicholas has disclosed that he is to be engaged in talks tomorrow with Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne, Public Utilities Minister the Hon. Sir Robin Yearwood and the legal team.
Meanwhile, Minister Nicholas is also to chair a meeting involving various stakeholders in the telecoms sector.
Digicel and Flow are seeking judicial review of the decision of the government to re-allocate the 850 megahertz spectrum among all three telecoms operators.
The government has deferred the decision by 90 days to allow an independent entity to assess whether it can be re-distributed equally.
