VEREL SIMON REMANDED FOR MURDER
Murder-accused Verel Simon has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison pending committal proceedings in two months.
Simon appeared before Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh in St. John’s Magistrates Court this morning.
Police allege the 20-year-old defendant killed Police Corporal Clifton Common while detained at St. John’s Police Station last Thursday.
Officers had earlier picked up the Villa resident for allegedly vandalizing a building on St. John’s Street.
Simon is scheduled to return to court April 22.
