MEHUL CHOKSI’S LAWYERS SEEK HIS RELEASE FROM DETENTION

Defence attorneys say they are applying for a writ of Habeas Corpus to secure Mehul Choksi’s release from detention in Dominica.

Attorney Wayne Marsh tells ABS News Choksi reports he was abducted from Antigua & Barbuda and taken to Dominica via a yacht earlier this week.

Dominica’s National Security and Home Affairs Ministry has said law enforcement detained Choksi for illegally entering the country.

The Indian born diamond mogul, who also has Antiguan and Barbudan citizenship through the Citizenship by Investment Programme, is wanted by authorities in India for allegedly defrauding the Punjab National Bank.
