AMB. LIONEL HURST FLAYS ABWU ON LIAT SEVERANCE STANCE

The Government has pushed back against the Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union, which is insisting on 100 per cent severance payments for former LIAT workers.
Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ambassador Lionel Hurst says the union is engaging in political activity, rather than industrial relations which it should be pursuing.
The verbal volleys have intensified, even as the Government seeks to concretize a deal with Air Peace to take a majority stake in LIAT 2020.
