CABINET AGREES TO SEEK PARDON FOR SOME PRISONERS CONTRIBUTING TO HAPI INITIATIVE

Inmates at His Majesty’s Prison who have been building homes for the less fortunate under the Government’s signature social housing programme, are to get a pardon.

Cabinet made the decision at its meeting on Wednesday, where it was also determined these inmates will also gain permanent employment under the Home Advancement Programme for the Indigent, or HAPI initiative.

The decision comes days after Social and Urban Transformation Minister, Hon. Rawdon Turner had publicly called for the sentences of these inmates to be commuted.
