NEWLY-ACQUIRED MENTAL WELLNESS FACILITY BEING REDESIGNED
The Government has completed its assessment of the former Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses property in Sea View Farm, which is set to be repurposed as the country’s newest mental health and wellness facility.
Health Minister, Honourable Sir Molwyn Joseph says, “We need additional space and to redesign the existing space…and the last thing I heard was the architect promised about three weeks ago that he would finish the redesign of the facilities.”
He added that once the redesign is complete, renovations could be done in just four weeks.
The minister assures, “the building is structurally sound. It is just that they have glass windows and doors that are not adequate.”
The proposed Antigua and Barbuda Behavioural Health Institute aims to modernize mental health treatment and tackle the stigma often associated with them.
