SIR RONALD SANDERS CONFERRED WITH HONORARY DOCTORATE FROM UNIVERSITY OF GUYANA

Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the United States and permanent representative to the Organisation of American States, Sir Ronald Sanders, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate from the University of Guyana.

The University of Guyana conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws, (Honoris Causa) at its 2025 convocation on Saturday.

The university says this is in recognition of his career spanning five decades in diplomacy and public service.

The university’s special conferral committee described the veteran Antiguan diplomat as “a transformative figure in diplomacy, business, and academia.” In his address to the faculty of social sciences graduating class, Sir Ronald reflected on his own journey from Georgetown schoolboy to knighted diplomat.
