Anthony Smith Jr Excited to Join ABLP Ranks

Member of Parliament for All Saints West, Anthony Smith Jr., says he is excited to officially join the ranks of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) once Parliament is dissolved this Wednesday.

Smith Jr. resigned from the main opposition United Progressive Party (UPP) in July 2024, subsequent to his win in the 2023 general elections, and served as an independent Member of Parliament while functioning as Minister within the ABLP administration.  Speaking on ABS Television’s First Look interview, Monday, he says he firmly rejected a seat at the UPP’s table and labeled it a table of “lies and propaganda”. 

Two weekends ago, he was named as the caretaker for the ABLP’s All Saints West constituency where he will contest in the upcoming general elections.
