UPP’S ASHWORTH AZILLE SUGGESTS CUTTING ABST FOR 6-MONTH PERIOD

The United Progressive Party’s candidate for St John’s Rural East, Ashworth Azille, is advocating for tax relief measures, as part of a broader effort to cushion the impact of the cost of living.

Azille says one option he is exploring is a temporary reduction in the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) for a six-month period.

He noted this is not a policy position of the party, neither has a costing analysis been done.

He was a guest on ABS’ ‘Know Your Candidates’ on Friday.
