A New Era In The Telecommunications Industry
A new era in the telecommunications industry could be on the horizon in Antigua and Barbuda.
Minister of Telecommunications Melford Nicholas says the new telecoms legislation, which goes to Parliament tomorrow, could open doors for a sector that is both modern and competitive.
Nicholas says the legislation is substantive enough to attract the investment of major industry players.
He adds that the Telecommunications Bill will assist in propelling the country to the forefront of modern e-government practices.
Minister Nicholas reiterates that efficiency from a regulatory standpoint will be critical and calls on the local providers to play an active role in the plans for effectiveness.
