A Step Nearer For A Popular Attraction Gaining World Heritage Status

The Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is one step away from possibly achieving World Heritage Status.

A local delegation will travel to Paris next month to meet with authorities there and present the country’s case.

The team will comprise of National Parks Commissioner, Ann Marie Martin, Archeologist, Dr. Reginald Murphy and board member Senator Alincia Williams- Grant.

An excited Martin says they are drawing closer to the fulfillment of a dream, which could bring tremendous economic benefits to the country.

Martin says the status will undoubtedly boost the country’s visitor arrival.

It will also change the way that the twin island state manages its national parks. -30-
