Airport Runway Sees Major Progress
Airport officials are reporting the successful completion of Phase 9 of the V.C. Bird International Airport airlift rehabilitation programme.
They say it marks another important step in enhancing the safety, resilience, and operational capability of the airfield. In a post shared to social media, Operations Manager at Antigua Barbuda airport authority (ABAA), Rex Daly, says the phase covered construction of a Code E taxiway shoulder between holding positions Bravo and Charlie – or B and C; construction of the taxiway fillets at holding position Bravo. He writes this improves aircraft maneuverability and supporting compliance with applicable International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) aerodrome design standards.
