Antigua and Barbuda Delegation Participates in Third CARICOM Regional Conference on Reparations

A four-member delegation from Antigua and Barbuda is currently in Barbados participating in the Third CARICOM Regional Conference on Reparations, being held from September 17–19, 2026, under the theme “Reparatory Justice as the Coming Enlightenment.”

The delegation comprises Ambassador Dorbrene O’Marde, Ambassador Anthony Liverpool, Senator Angelica O’Donoghue and Dr. Lenworth Johnson.

The delegation attended Thursday evening’s Opening Ceremony, which featured addresses from CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, His Highness Papa Paul Jones Eganda, among an esteemed line-up of regional and international speakers.

Over the course of the conference, members of the Antigua and Barbuda delegation will participate in several high-level sessions alongside members of the CARICOM Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on Reparations, Heads of Government and representatives of CARICOM, the African Union, national reparations commissions, civil society and the global African diaspora.

Ambassador Dorbrene O’Marde, Chair of the Antigua and Barbuda Reparations Support Commission (ABRSC) and Vice-Chair of the CARICOM Reparations Commission (CRC), will moderate the session “The Global Architecture of Reparatory Justice: Leveraging International Institutions, Frameworks and Agreements.”
