FALCONS CRUSH WARRIORS TO STORM INTO CPL FINAL

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have reached the final of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League, after demolishing the Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier One on Thursday night.

The Falcons won by 9 wickets with 88 balls remaining at Kensington Oval, after their spinners Shadab Khan and Sufyan Moqim torpedoed the Warriors’ batting and Rahkeem Cornwall’s explosive innings made light work of the target of 77.

The Warriors were asked to bat first and were undone by spin, as only four batters got into double figures.

They were bowled out for 76 in 15 overs, with four wickets apiece for Khan and Moqim, including a hat-trick for player of the match Khan.

The Falcons then overhauled the target in just 5.2 overs, as Cornwall pummelled 49 from just 16 deliveries, including 3 boundaries and 6 maximums, while Evin Lewis was not out on 23.

The Falcons’ opponents in the final on Sunday, September 20 will be either the Warriors or Jamaica Kingsmen, who will clash in Qualifier Two on Friday.
