ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA LAUNCHES MAJOR EARLY WARNING INITIATIVE

A comprehensive US$12.3 million initiative has been launched to strengthen disaster preparedness and modernise the country’s early warning and weather forecasting systems.

The government is partnering with the United Nations Development Programme for the five-year ‘Early Warnings for All’ project.

The initiative is being funded by the Green Climate Fund.

The programme was launched during a workshop at the Trade Winds Hotel.
