CHOGM 2026 Cricket Match Coin
A coin design competition was launched in September 2026 that was open to students from the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies (“ABCAS”). The winning design would be reflected on the coin for the toss for the One Commonwealth, One Team cricket match. The competition invited original designs under the theme “One Commonwealth, One Team”. Entries were to reflect cricket, Commonwealth unity, teamwork, friendship and youth aspiration, alongside Antigua and Barbuda’s culture and identity. A judging panel selected the winning entry.
Rodajah Imani, a sixteen year old first-year student studying Visual Arts and Cultural Production in the Department of Fine Arts and Creative Studies at the Dr Alister Francis Campus of ABCAS, formerly Antigua State College, was adjudged to have the winning entry.

The design depicts a batsman, inspired by a photograph of former West Indies cricketers Winston Benjamin and Carl Hooper. The image appears alongside a wicket and the Shekerley Mountain Range in Antigua. The sun and sea represent Antigua and Barbuda, with “CHOGM” above and “2026” below. A chain of linked human figures symbolises Commonwealth unity, partnership and economic collaboration.

The reverse design includes the same unity chain surrounding the official CHOGM 2026 logo featuring the frigate bird, which is the national bird of Antigua and Barbuda found also in the official CHOGM 2026 logo. The intended inscriptions are “Antigua & Barbuda” and the theme of CHOGM “, Accelerating Partnerships & Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth”. The design connects a young artist’s aspirations with her country’s cricketing heritage and the Commonwealth’s shared purpose.

Of the 5,000 medals commemorating the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2026, two shall be produced in a gilded gold finish of premium quality, suitable for ceremonial presentation to His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen.
