Commonwealth Launches New Trade Portal at CHOGM 2026 to Boost Intra-Commonwealth Trade Opportunities

St. John’s, 4 November 2026 – The Commonwealth Secretary-General, Hon Shirley Botchwey, today launched the Commonwealth Trade Portal at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

The Commonwealth Trade Portal is a practical, user-friendly digital platform that provides essential trade information in one place. It will enable Commonwealth businesses, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), to make informed decisions, identify new opportunities, understand market requirements, and trade with greater confidence.

The portal, when fully populated, would contain information on multilateral and preferential tariff arrangements and regimes for all Commonwealth countries. It also provides access to centralised trade data at the national tariff level, which will help businesses identify applicable import duties, assess market trends and demand patterns, and make better-informed decisions about where and how to expand their operations. MSMEs will be able to access information via the portal on export and import requirements in specific Commonwealth markets.
