COVID CASES DETECTED AT TRANSPORT BOARD’S VEHICLE INSPECTION CENTRE

Antigua & Barbuda Transport Board’s Vehicle Inspection Centre closed midday today after a few workers contracted the coronavirus.

General Manager Hubert Jarvis told ABS News about five workers at the Sir Sydney Walling Highway facility tested positive for COVID-19 and a few others have reported feeling unwell.

Jarvis says they have provided rapid COVID tests for all the centre’s employees and will sanitize the facility.

He says depending on the results, the centre could resume operations soon.

The General Manager says the Head Office in Herbert’s and the Government’s Motor Pool on Palmetto Drive have not been affected and will continue regular operations.
