Deadline for Submission of Claims drawing Near

The deadline is drawing near for submitting claims to be filed for registered voters.

The cut-off date of February 5, leads to the compilation and publication of the national register of electors ahead of the general elections due this year.

Supervisor of Elections at the Antigua & Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC), Lorna Simon, says the process requires the objector to complete a form before dates of hearing that will be held in various constituencies.

ABEC’s Public Relations Officer, Anne Harewood-George, speaks of the importance for electors to follow through with the requirements of the electoral process.

Over 48 thousand voters are listed in the preliminary voters list.The final list of electors is expected to be published promptly after the ongoing claims and objections period.
