DR KEITH MITCHELL’S NNP LOSES IN GRENADA’S GENERAL ELECTIONS; DICKON MITCHELL IS PRIME MINISTER-DESIGNATE
 
44 year old attorney Dickon Mitchell will become Grenada’s new Prime Minister as his National Democratic Congress, NDC, secured victory in general elections today over the New National Party, NNP of incumbent Dr Keith Mitchell. The NDC has won 9-6 based on preliminary results. It is a huge swing to the NDC after the NNP had secured all 15 seats in the last general election in 2018. Prime Minister-designate Dickon Mitchell has swept to power with a promise of transformative leadership in the tri-island state. Dr Keith Mitchell had told supporters prior to today’s election that this would be his last time leading his party into an election.
