GOVERNMENT REACHES DEAL WITH PRIVATE SUPPLIER TO BOOST WATER SUPPLY

The government has completed negotiations with United States-based Seven Seas water group, to supply an additional three million gallons of potable water to the Antigua Public Utilities Authority.
The APUA indicated in a media release Wednesday afternoon that the agreement is set to be signed mid-afternoon next Monday at the APUA Business Centre.
Seven Seas will produce the three million gallons through the operation of reverse osmosis plants at the Ffryes Beach and Ivan Rodrigues facilities.
Public Utilities Minister, Hon. Melford Nicholas says this will satisfy increasing water demand nationwide, including new housing projects being developed by the Government.
