Hon. E.P. Chet Greene Calls for Stronger Regional Linkages

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. E.P. Chet Greene is now Chair of the OECS Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers, and is calling for stronger air links in the region.

The handover took place during the 10th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in New York.  Minister Greene acknowledged the rapidly shifting international order and the heightened vulnerability of small states. 

He said, “We need stronger air links among our islands, regular sea transport for people and cargo, and new connections to nearby markets in Central and South America. Governments can create the policy framework, but carriers, ports, exporters, importers, financial institutions and investors must help design, finance and manage viable services.”
