IPO REGISTRAR ENCOURAGES SUPPORT OF SMALL BUSINESSES ON WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DAY

Today April 26, 2021 is being recognized as World Intellectual Property Day under the theme “IP and SMEs: Taking your ideas to market!”
Registrar at the Intellectual Property Office Ricki Camacho is encouraging locals to recognize the gargantuan role small and medium-sized enterprises play in Antigua’s economic landscape.  She is sounding a call for all to support locals’ business ideas particularly today.
Camacho also advocates entrepreneurs with business ideas and inventions translated into products or processes to protect them through intellectual property.  This may be done through patents, trademarks, trade secrets, or copyrights.
This will in turn encourage investments in innovation and foster job creation.
