Minister Leandro issues statement on recent assault charge against Dean Jonas

Minister of Education, Youth Sports and Gender Affairs Dr. the Hon. Jacqui Quinn-Leandro has issued a statement on the recent assault conviction of Dean Jonas, the opposition Antigua Labour Party (ALP) candidate for St. George.

Quinn-Leandro says she has been bombarded women who have contacted her concerning the recent guilty judgment.

Quinn Leandro promises to review the legislation to strengthening provisions which address this matter.

She adds that violence against women comes in various forms and must be recognized as such and concludes that violence against women is wrong.
