New Airport Security Measures On The Horizon

VC Bird international Airport is expected to be among hundreds, possibly thousands of gateways around the world, where extra screening of passengers will soon come into effect.

The Transportation and Security Administration is cautioning that increased security measures will be implemented, where flights with direct services to the United States are concerned.

As stricter measures are implemented, US security officials will be paying attention to powerless devices, to include cell phones, and tablets as a result of a specific threat.

In a statement, the TSA outlined that “as the traveling public knows, all electronic devices are screened by security officers. During the security examination, officers may also ask that owners power up some devices, including cell phones. Powerless devices will not be permitted onboard the aircraft. The traveler may also undergo additional screening.”

TSA says it will continue to adjust security measures to ensure that travelers are guaranteed the highest levels of aviation security conducted as conveniently as possible.
