NSWMA RESPONDS TO SMOKE NUISANCE FROM LANDFILL FIRE

The authorities have assured they are working assiduously to extinguish a fire at the Cooks Landfill which has caused a smoke nuisance for residents in nearby communities.

Officials tell ABS News the fire was the result of spontaneous combustion. The National Solid Waste Management Authority is moving to have it controlled before it becomes an environmental issue.
