Owalabi Elabanjo Speaks On Duck Damages

The Ministry of Agriculture says it has heard the cries of farmers, whose crops are being destroyed by wild birds.

The department is giving assurance that stakeholders are seeking solutions to the problem.

Local farmers are claiming loss of crops amounting to thousands of dollars, through damage caused by the West Indian Whistling Duck, listed as an endangered species in Antigua & Barbuda.

Agricultural Extension Officer Owalabi Elabanjo says they are carefully exploring options for preventing the ducks from invading the farms.
