PAHO SAYS GET CURRENT WITH OTHER VACCINES

Today is the final day of Vaccination Week in the Americas.

As the region battles to access COVID- 19 vaccines, Pan American Health Organization Director, Dr. Carissa Etienne says people should ensure they’re up to date on other vaccines.

She says an outbreak of a disease (which already has a vaccine developed to counter it) would further burden healthcare systems which are already under strain during the current pandemic.

Meanwhile, she urges people to get vaccinated against COVID- 19 which she says will bring the pandemic closer to an end.
