The elderly in the twin island nation will once again be benefitting from a PDV CAB and Government of Antigua and Barbuda initiative.

According to a press release from PDV Caribe Antigua & Barbuda Limited, the distribution of the new Senior Citizens’ Utility Subsidy booklets for the period September 2013 to February 2014 will begin later this month.

This distribution will be done from Monday August 26 to Friday August 30; 9am to 4pm daily at the Multipurpose Cultural Centre, Perry Bay and the Codrington Post Office in Barbuda.

Beneficiaries are reminded to bring along a valid government issued photo ID which can be a (Voter’s Card, Passport or Driver’s License), a Social Security Pensioners’ Card or previous booklet.

Beneficiaries who are unable to collect their booklets in person may assign someone else to collect on their behalf. However, this individual must present his or her valid government issued ID, the beneficiary’s Social Security Pension Card; OR the beneficiary’s previous booklet.

The idea of this subsidy is to impact positively the disposable income of the nation’s seniors and enhance their quality of life. Participants are given the vouchers which are tendered at the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) as payment towards their designated bills.

Distributors are also asking beneficiaries to note that the booklets should be collected during the distribution period to avoid any forfeiture of benefits.
