PM Browne Says Government Is Moving To Down Prices At Pumps

gasWith oil prices on the decline worldwide, Prime Minister the Hon Gaston Browne says government is moving to have the changes reflected at the pumps here.

But he says he does not have the cooperation of fuel supplier, West Indies Oil.

Speaking in a radio interview this (Monday) morning, the prime minister says West Indies Oil has refused to pass on the savings on the basis that APUA owes the company about 55 million dollars.

He described that rationale as nonsensical, adding that the arrears were inherited by the new government administration which reduced the amount owed from 98 million.

Prime Minister Brown says he has therefore instructed APUA to purchase fuel from another source and pass on the savings to consumers.
