PRISON TRUCK OVERTURNS

Several people including prison inmates of Her Majesty’s Prison have been taken to the hospital following a collision on Cedar Valley Main Road this morning.

Head of the Police Traffic Traffic Department ASP Rodney Ellis says the collision occurred minutes after 10.

It involved a Daihatsu Delta Truck carrying the prisoners and a Suzuki Caravan vehicle.
Following the impact, the truck slid off the side of the road and collided with a tree while the Suzuki vehicle received minor damage.
Prison Superintendent, Major Eugene Philip says the inmates and a prison officer were being transported to the prison farm at the time of the incident.

He added all the inmates are accounted for and there do not appear to be any serious injuries.
