ROADWORKS TO INTENSIFY IN ST JOHN’S AS APUA FINALIZES PIPE-LAYING

Road resurfacing in St John’s is expected to pick up pace as APUA finalizes work on laying new water mains in the capital.
The move will allow the Ministry of Works to focus on restoring road surfaces ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, which runs from November 1 – 4.

Merchant says APUA is expected to withdraw its teams from St John’s by the end of the week, after completing the installation of new mains., using the horizontal directional drilling method.

The update was provided by director general of communications in the prime minister’s office, Maurice Merchant, during the post cabinet media briefing Friday morning.
