SECURITY FORCES REPORT SUCCESSFUL START TO EXERCISE STRONGHOLD
Preparations for Antigua and Barbuda’s historic hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting are continuing in earnest, with what the security forces say has been the successful completion of the first day of Exercise Stronghold on Wednesday.
The simulation brought together government ministries, security agencies and other key stakeholders to test plans and improve coordination ahead of CHOGM in November.
The “soft lockdown” on day one ended at approximately 10:00am, two hours ahead of schedule.
The barriers were removed to allow for the resumption of regular traffic flow in the area which had been designated the ‘red zone’.
