SPANISH TO BE MADE ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA’S OFFICIAL SECOND LANGUAGE

Antigua and Barbuda is moving to make Spanish its official second language and a core subject throughout the education system.

The government says the change is meant to strengthen regional ties and expand opportunities for students and workers across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The plan also means a major overhaul of the national curriculum.
