THREE MORE CABINET MEMBERS TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID; ALL REPORTEDLY DOING WELL

Cabinet Secretary Konata Lee and three cabinet members have tested positive for COVID-19, but all are reportedly doing well and participated in today’s virtual cabinet meeting. Mr Lee told ABS News he has had no major symptoms and is doing well in isolation, as are the three other ministers. Two of the three Ministers received their results following rapid antigen tests and are awaiting the results from the PCR method. The latest positive results follow the confirmation that Attorney General Hon. Steadroy Benjamin had also contracted the coronavirus. The Attorney General told ABS News on Wednesday he has had no symptoms and will be back out to work soon once given the all-clear.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Lee is making it clear the members who have been infected were not in close contact with each other, as he pre-empted any notion of contagion among the executive arm of government. He says the absence of any major symptoms can be attributed to the fact that all are fully vaccinated and boosted. He continues to urge members of the public to adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols to curtail transmission.
