Two ABEMS Members Attend EMS World in Florida

Two members of the Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services are representing the country at EMS World 2026 in Orlando, Florida.

Supervisor Akelia Carr and paramedic Mauli George are due to attend the international conference beginning Monday and continuing through October 5.

EMS World brings together emergency medical professionals, healthcare practitioners, educators and industry experts for training and discussions on developments in emergency care.

The department says the conference will give Carr and George exposure to new technologies, clinical practices and international standards.

When they return, they are expected to share what they have learned with their colleagues to help strengthen operations and service delivery.

EMS director Shawn Greenidge says continued education and professional development remain important to improving the quality of emergency medical care in Antigua and Barbuda.
