UK TO DONATE COVID-19 VACCINES TO A&B

The United Kingdom will this week provide 12 thousand doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to Antigua and Barbuda.

It is part of an initial nine million Covid-19 vaccines which the UK is delivering around the world to help tackle the pandemic.

In addition to Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, Indonesia, and Kenya will also benefit.

This is the first tranche of the 100 million vaccines that Prime Minister Boris Johnson pledged the UK would share with the world within the next year.

The UK’s Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab says the country is moving to get the poorest parts of the world vaccinated as a matter of urgency.

He says: “We’re doing this to help the most vulnerable, but also because we know we won’t be safe until everyone is safe.”
