UWI FIVE ISLAND’S SCHOOL OF SCIENCE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, AND COMPUTING SET FOR SEPTEMBER LAUNCH

The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus will launch its School of Science, Artificial, Intelligence, and Computing later this year and is now accepting applications.

The Campus’ Director of Academic Affairs Dr. Curtis Charles says the programme is a first in the region and should attract thousands of applicants from across the Caribbean.

Accredited certification will include a Certificate in Digital Animation while a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, Computer Science, and Data Science will be launched next year.

Dr. Charles adds while only 33% of global jobs requiring technology skills are being met, there will be 6.5 million jobs requiring Information Technology specializations by 2022.

2 + 2 arrangements are currently being engineered for the Antigua State College (ASC) and the Antigua Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT).
