This is the first time soca artiste, Tian Winter has thrown his hat into the calypso arena.

The pieces he will deliver are “Cycles” and “Let Loose”.

Winter, who is the reigning Jumpy Monarch will still be competing in the soca monarch competition.
He says practicing for both Soca and Calypso has not been a challenge but the difference is rehearsing with the calypso band instead of his own.
The Soca Monarch will see Winter performing “Do Wa You Want” for Groovy and “In Your Face” for Jumpy.

Tian joined the soca arena in 2008, won both groovy and jumpy in 2009 and has ten crowns under his belt between jumpy, groovy and road march.
He advises anyone who is considering entering the arena to ensure their material is up to par and just go forward with confidence.
