BUS OPERATORS UNCOOPERATIVE

With the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic the Bus Association is implementing social distancing measures on public transportation to keep both bus operators and commuters safe.
With the help of transport board, the entity has instructed bus operators with 14-seater buses to only allow nine passengers on board, while 30-seater buses should allow seventeen passengers on commutes to and from St. John’s.
This measure is effective immediately for all Bus operators both at the West Bus Station Terminal and those who operate at the East Bus Station terminal.
However Public Relations Officer of the Bus Association Earl Waldron says the move is not been taking seriously by all bus operators.

The five-dollar operational fee for the daily use of the facility has been waived by the Transport Board. Waldron believes as Bus operators they are a vehicle to transfer the coronavirus thus the need for desperate action.
The PRO is appealing to commuters for help in this regard.
