LOCAL TESTING FOR COVID19 TO BEGIN SOON

Health Minister Molwyn Joseph says testing for COVID-19 is just weeks away but there are challenges that are beyond the government’s control.

Joseph says border closures across several countries caused major delays….
The government was able to make other arrangements and continues to make provisions for technicians to arrive on island to certify the machines.
The Health Minister says once certification of the machines is completed,the country can begin testing locally for COVID-19.
Prime Minister Hon Gaston Browne says this will increase the Health Ministry’s target in getting to potential COVID-19 carriers.

Meanwhile the Minister says the airport temperature scanning machine will be on island shortly.

This machine will be attached to the bottom of escalators and will read passengers temperature….eliminating the need for a nurse.
