NATION SHOCKED BY THE SUDDEN DEATH OF KING EDIMELO

A stalwart in the calypso arena and a mainstay at the Ministry of Works has passed away.

Tyrone Thomas, more popularly known as ‘King Edimelo’ died earlier today, aged 60.

Here’s what we know…

He was found face down and unresponsive at his office in the Bryson’s Complex on Friars Hill Road about 11:45 this morning.

He was rushed to hospital by the Emergency Medical Services, where he was pronounced dead after several attempts to resuscitate him.

The cause of his death is NOT known at this time and will be determined by a post mortem.

Thomas was a long-standing member of the management team at the Ministry of Works; in total, he worked there for over 3 and a half decades.

He managed the Accommodations Office and was part of the rebranding team at the Ministry.
