AIR QUALITY DROPS TO UNHEALTHY LEVELS
Everyone is being cautioned to remain indoors as much as possible since the air quality across the country has dropped to unhealthy levels.
The warning comes from the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services as a surge of Saharan Dust moves across the country.
The Met. Office says this reduction of the air quality has significantly elevated the risks of health problems, for especially sensitive people, such as those with asthma.
Air Quality Index (AQI) at 10:30 Sunday morning was between 140 and 180 but is expected to decrease below 100 to moderate levels by tonight and staying that way until Tuesday.
However, the Met Office says there is also the potential for the air quality to worsen and the index could rise above 200 to very unhealthy levels for all.
