MAN SENTENCED TO 9 MONTHS FOR FIREARM POSSESSION
A man who shot himself with a pistol November last year has been sentenced to 9 months in prison.
Twenty-five-year-old Jase Cannonier pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition Monday.
The defendant injured his left hand after discharging a .25 pistol while sitting in a rented Toyota Vitz vehicle in Seaview Farm.
Cannonier, who drove himself to the hospital, was later arrested and charged after police became aware of the matter.
The weapon was never recovered but investigators found a spent warhead and cartridge in the vehicle.
