PUBLIC FIGURE TO STAND TRIAL IN THE HIGH COURT

A public official is to stand trial in the High Court in the September Criminal Assizes for Rape and Serious Indecency. The matter was committed to the High Court this morning when the case came up in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate N’gaio Emanuel Edwards.

Under the country’s laws, a defendant in such matters cannot be named unless there is a conviction.
