52 YEAR OLD BUS DRIVER FOUND GUILTY OF INDECENT ASSAULT ON 15 YEAR OLD GIRL

Leroy Campbell has been remanded to prison ahead of sentencing, after being found guilty of one count of Indecent Assault and two counts of Serious Indecency against a 15 year old girl. A jury reached the verdict on Wednesday, following a High Court trial which started last week. The incident happened in December, 2018 when Campbell had been 49 years old. The court heard he took the teenage girl to Cassada Gardens and performed sexual acts on her. The defendant had pleaded not guilty. The jury, comprised of six females and three males, reached their unanimous verdict after deliberating for two and a half hours.

Sentencing has been deferred to next month, pending a pre-sentencing report, victim impact statement and social inquiry report.

Campbell was represented by attorney, Wendel Robinson, who says his client has instructed him to file an appeal on several grounds.
